Jim Wickwire is one of the most accomplished and admired climbers in this area, if not in America. This will be the first time that Jim has ever given a comprehensive history of the Willis Wall route on Mount Rainier - he has been on it four times. Wickwire climbed Everest three times but is probably best known in climbing circles for his ascent in 1978 of K2, at 28,250 feet, the second-highest mountain in the world. He and Lou Reichardt were the first Americans to reach the summit of K2.
