About The Event

Living Voices presents this live performance which tells the story of Jessie the daughter of a Political columnist growing up in Washington, DC during the early 1900s. Jessie is inspired when her Great-Aunt Charlotte, a longtime suffragist, comes to visit, and she introduces Jessie to the movement. Jessie learns about the history of the women who started the movement, such as Susan B.  Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, as well as a new generation who have continued the fight. She is also confronted by those who oppose it, including her own parents.
